Why it matters

Structural details/connections which cannot be welded together or high fatigue prone areas of interest not being captured early on and defects that slip through fabrication are far more expensive - and in some cases far more critical for the asset - to correct once the structures have been offshore installed. Independent quality oversight and catching these early-on in the fabrication stage protects both the project timeline, cost and the long-term integrity of the asset.
